Helpless

from Decalogy by G.A.S. DRUMMERS

lyrics

I just woke up from another dream
It was the sixties and I lived in the states
There was Cuba and JFK.

I met Woody Guthrie in his last days
Just like Dylan took the Long Island train,
Singing protest songs against the Vietnam War.

I'm sorry here I stand
Mediocre and insane
It’s 7 in the morning
Starts another day
I’d like to say we’re living crucial times again
But we’re helpless.

We’re helpless

I lived in London in the late 70’s
There was Strummer, Rotten and me
We were a threat for society.

I'm sorry here I stand
Mediocre and insane
It’s 7 in the morning
Starts another day
I’d like to say we’re living crucial times again
But we’re helpless.

We’re helpless

One more song
One more painting on the wall
One more song
Here is where I stay

Where I'm helpless

We’re helpless
